One Coding Agent, Many AI Models
Why commit to one AI model when you can choose? Shape brings models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and more into a single coding agent.
Some coding agents are closely tied to the models made by the company behind them.
Codex centres on OpenAI models, while Claude Code focuses on Claude. That works well if you know which provider you want, but what happens when you want to try something else?
Shape takes a different approach. You can choose from models by OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, DeepSeek, Qwen, Mistral and more, all within the same coding app. You don't need to switch tools just to use a different model.
Different models have different strengths, and the one you prefer for a difficult refactor might not be the one you'd pick for a quick edit. You can choose a model yourself, or leave it to Auto to pick one for the task.
Models keep changing, and no single model is always the best choice for every job. We'd rather give you the freedom to choose than lock your workflow to one provider.
